Book: All Better!

All Better! is an interactive board book that is wonderful for toddlers and preschoolers. The book comes with five reusable bandage stickers to place on the “owies” that each of the animal friends receives. Not only do readers get to place the bandages, but the story teaches them the steps to make the owies “all better.” It’s adorable when my almost two-year-old cleans the owie, kisses it, and then puts a bandage on it. Since reading the book, when my daughter gets hurt, we can go through the steps it talks about (clean it, kiss it, put a bandage on it) and she deals with owies much better.

The book also has a matching aspect to it. The bandages are colored and are stored on a shape of the same color. After you’ve read the book, you can have your little ones place them back in their spot. My daughter has been able to do match the colors since around 18 months old. The bandages also have a different animal on each that correspond to the animals that get hurt. Little ones will match the bandage to the animal owie.

Not only are the stickers reusable, but they can be rinsed with cool water. After they dry, the stick comes back.

Activity: Decorate Bandages

Materials:

Coloring supplies

Bandage Printable

Scissors

The book itself has a built-in activity, but this coloring activity just extends the fun. This is activity is pretty simple and doesn’t require much. Kiddos are able to decorate the four bandages on the Bandage Printable that I’ve created. They can decorate them however they would like. You can get really crazy and use glitter, too, if you’re into that kind of thing. I’m not a super huge fan of glitter at the moment, so I’ll be sticking to crayons and markers. After they’ve been decorated, cut them out and have kiddos act out the steps for making owies all better.
